Lychee flowers?

My tiny lychee plant (soon to be a tree I hope), now 50 cm high, seems to be flowering.
Isn't this rather precocious? It's not because it's stressed or anything?
I guess I should cut the flowers off and allow all it's strength to go into growing bigger.

I thought lychees could fruit from an early age.
