Tomato seeds

Hello

I have just succumbed to temptation and planted out two tomato seedlings - a big sin in Tas, as one is supposed to wait until after Hobart Show day (next week). It'll probably be freezing for the next week now, just to teach me a lesson! They are stupice and olomovic, which are supposed to be fairly tolerant of cooler weather, so here's hoping. Also have some brandywine, b wine sudduth and silvery fir tree coming along nicely, thanks very much to Ray - will wait another few weeks before risking those though.

I have a few of the following seeds if anyone would like some -

Olomovic, stupice, sweetie, napoli paste, principe borghese, cherokee purple, san marzano and peach. Also heaps of seed from a particularly vigorous italian parsley - I harvested a coffee jar full from a couple of huge plants last year. I haven't actually used any from the jar full - I just waved the dead heads around the garden where I wanted to grow it and now have it coming up everywhere.

Jen

Jen, if you are worried about frost, you could cut some softdrink bottles in half and put the halves over the seedlings. That'll act like a mini greenhouse. Frost won't get at them this way.
Just make sure you take them off when it gets warm during the day or there's heaps of sunshine. You don't want them to get fried in their little houses.

Good luck! :)

Thanks Spatz - I have put some plastic around them which should give them some warmth, though I might put something over the top as well if we get a really cold night.
