Anyone know where I can buy fresh supplies of the antifungal Daconil. I need about 4ltr not 40ltr. My Golf CLub won't sell me any. Thanks, Grub.

There's half a litre of it stashed deep under the house at Cammeray, Grub. You could probably sneak in at midnight and grab it. I've been trying to find it here. Carlo the Italian gardener sprays with that awful blue stuff, a copper/sulphur brew. Here, after much research, I've discovered that chlorothalonil is marketed for the home gardener as Talonil - FL. And Di-Pel is marketed as Jack Pot - BFC. Jean (the farm owner) and I are going to trawl the local garden centres today looking for them both.

Ah! Hang on! I recall that Auntie P of the Central Australian time zone was trying to unload her supply of Daconil. If she still has it, you could be in with a chance.

Thanks Finbar,
Maybe I should have stressed "fresh." I still have a couple of litres but it loses its punch with age, I read. So I was looking for a new lot. Aunty P's and your remaining dribs are from my batch. Same age.

Hey, I like the sound of Jack Pot! Maybe you dun get EB or grubs where you are?

Hey Grub--

How old is your Daconil? I asked Ortho about this once and they told me the minimum shelf life was three years when properly stored. I'd go ahead and use it up unless it's really old.

Here's part of the e-mail they sent me when I asked:

"Garden Disease Control is formulated to have a minimum shelf life of 3 years when properly stored, but will often last longer. We don't know precisely how long our products will remain effective because variables in storage conditions could affect shelf life.
After 3 years, Garden Disease Control gradually loses its effectiveness. Garden Disease Control will not
be fully effective one day and ineffective the next, so we recommend you use up products even if you've
had them for over 3 years. Products don't become more hazardous as they age."

Hi Suze,
I think my batch is about two-years old. So it's stil probably a-ok then. I might use a little more than the usual 2ml/ltr and gor for 2.5ml/ltr. But there's no way know to tomatokind I can't use some ortho product in the humidity here. I cheated and bought a Sweet Bite (aka Sweet 100) in flower the other day and it's already got crud/EB and it's standing all of 10in tall. Lol. Thanks, Grub.
