I was recently given a sucker from a banana tree, but alas it has turned brown and looks like it's had it. Another sucker has been offered ... how can I ensure success this time? Can anyone tell me the correct method of propagation? Thanks in advance .....

Hi Have a look at the link below from the DPI Qld it should be of help.
There is not much info on the NSW agric site

It is the wrong time of the year for planting suckers just a bit on the cold side.
