Winter, what winter?

| Hey, Sydney has just had its 18th straight day of above-average temps, with highs to 25C and constant 20C-plus and an average high over the last three weeks of around 23C. Now my volunteer lettuce and rocket are bolting and the Kohlrabi think it's summer. I have one volunteer tomato seedling that looks great. If this is the future there'll be no winter crop. And no water, either. Strange days indeed, most peculiar, Mama.
Ciao, :grub. |

| Oh well, at least we can look forward to a real winter. This place was blanketed in snow last February. The hot spell has finally broken after a couple of solid weeks of 35C daily and 25C overnight. A very pleasant 25C the last couple of days and a couple of massive electrical and rain storms. I was out in my vegie patch on the olive farm in one of the storms yesterday. Jolly good fun. |

Wow, You fellas have gone for a cultural, rural and climate change. Looks like you're both in for some chilly nights. Soup could be good. Bit cooler here today but I'm going to sow me new tomato crop soon. Have either of you got anything interestinng growing? How's the new patch, Finbar? And Ray, sounds like Brussel Sprouts might flourish :) |

| I've had some interesting times out at the vegie patch at the olive farm. I've explained some of them in the updated online photo album. Link below. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Italy -v- Australia in the vegie garden

| Same here Grub, we've had a few frosts but beautiful sunny weather during the day. My lettuce is looking amazing, the chooks are laying but sadly it looks like I finally have to say goodbye to the acreage as my ex has finally come up with a realistic offer :-(( |

Hi Sarah, Hey, we got a bit of winter today, eh? I'm wearing a record three layers including fur-lined jocks :) Maybe too much information. But I am warm. Where are you heading? Not NZ I hope? Cheers, grub |

Yes, very cold here today, looks like winter's come at last but probably it'll be gone again by the weekend! Not moving too far, just to Richmond or the foothills of the mountains. I'm hoping to buy 1/2 to 1 acre, but not too much like that around at the moment. Are you coming out to the Sustainability Fair? 17th Sept at Richmond Uni, Ray & Adam will be down & I'm planning a bit of a get together. You & Mrs Grub would be most welcome, and everyone else of course! Sarah |

| Er, if I am around the area I'll drop in but I'm likely to be tied-up doing a different kind of fieldwork before heading to Lizard Island two weeks later. But thanks for asking :) |
