Australia or USA??

Posted by livingsimple TAS (My Page) on Mon, Aug 7, 06 at 2:12
| Hi all,
I used to visit and post on this wonderful site often (probably about a year ago now!) and after this website was updated ages ago, i couldn't seem to log on. So, i decided to 'register' again, but could only get registered if i was from an American State with a US zip code. What am i doing wrong?! Has everyone else had this problem?? In the end i have just declared that i am from Tennessee, USA!! I actually wrote to the help desk about it a month or so ago, but have receieved no reply! Help!
Cheers

hi lyn I think we have all had this problem and a lot of garden webbers have given up and gone somewhere else , it seemed to happen when garden web got sold sometime ago to village who dont seem to give a dman about aussies and you are right I have never had a reply to my complaints that I have sent either, I also had to log on using an american state etc but now am able to be an aussie again ,somehow it also told me when I was able to log back on that I had only been a member of garden web for this year which wasnt right at all, but glad to see someone is still here though because of all their stupid popups, I dont come here much but if I know there is some one here sometimes I will return, lorraine |

| Hi guys, Thanks for the reassurance that i'm not going mad!! Helen, good to see you are still about! How is the property going??! Can i ask what reason you are not able to contribute to the ausgarden website? It seems very good with lots of information. Anyhow, have a great day guys . . . Cheers Lyn |

HI TASWEGIANS , WE WILL BE IN YOUR NECK OF THE WOODS IN A FEW WEEKS SO HOPE THE WEATHER HOLDS, LORRAINE |
RE: Australia or USA??

| Hi Lorraine, Fingers crossed the weather will be beautiful for you! We are having VERY cold mornings here on the north-west coast lately, but crisp, clear blue skies during the day. My prediction is that it will stay that way until into September! (then the rain and the wind will really start!!) So, where are you visiting in Tassie? Been before? Any plans while you're here? Do tell . . . : ) Cheers Lyn |

| g'day helen, if you think i can help with your subscription at ausgarden let me know maybe i can mediate for you if there is an issue in that quarter? i've been put on notice by my lovely and little bro' and his wife they want to take me off to a trip to tas'! in about jan' 2008, mmmm right hey? all i got is freezing cold memories from my navy days when the ships attended the regatta in hobart each year. do they still have that? maybe the taswesians need this much notice to be warned of a troppo banana bender heading south??!! anyhow if you want i will try and help with the other above issue. len |

| We are about to head north for some sun until October, but anyone coming to tassie should feel free to contact us for local knowledge, hospitality or whatever we can do to make your stay pleasant. January is a fantastic month and there is a lot going on at that time of year. Cheers Linda |
RE: Australia or USA??

| Yes, i agree with Linda, January should be nice here in Tassie and if you could leave it until February or March, then (IMO), even better for sunshine and nice long days! The offer also extends from me to anyone wishing to gain some Tassie info (I'll do my best!) or just need a spot for a cup of coffee, etc! Cheers Lyn |

hi lyn and linda well we would love to leave it till jan or feb but because of my other halfs work committments we cant ,we are coming by the boat ,and yes I was in tassie about 10 years ago, john hasnt been since he was at school many many moons ago(we are over the hill but who cares)so obviously we will be landing in devonport and as he hasnt been to stanley or anywhere up that way we will have a quick look that way as we are booked in at st helens for 4-5 nights so hope to check out as much of the east coast and inland from there at as we can, then probably heading south where-ever the fancy takes us though we only have 12 days darn it, so if anyone is close to any of those places please send me an email and we will see if its possible to catch up,if we have time ha!ha! we will try and fit some west coast and cradle mountain in ,yeah right but I doubt if we will have time, lorraine |

Helen, Ausgarden has had some changes done on the fly which throws things out of kilter. The guy who set it up used to be a regular here but got fed up with the ads. Anyway, if you want to sign up but can't, email me and I'll contact the webmaster for Ausgarden. He may be unaware that there is a problem. Ray |
RE: Australia or USA??

| Thanks Ray and Len I will have another go at trying to join. But I think it has something to do with the cookies that ausgarden want to save on my pc. lorraine you are most welcome to look me up over the summer break, but be warned we are building our house at that time and you might be roped in to hit a nail or two... Hi Lyn, so good to hear from you. Did you get that thing sorted about the walking path through your property? We have our house plans in at council. We gave them all the documents they asked for and then asked for two more! We are planting more fruit trees and on sunday I on a grafting course with Bob Magnus. I cant wait to move down to the block and get my chickens and extend the vegie patch that I have now. How is that great fence of yours going? Still keeping those possums out! Helen |

| Helen, I might be able to help you if it turns out to be something like that (cookies or browser). I just joined ovewr there and I have Firefox with my Cookies set to Allow for originating sites only. This is a good safe setting, and caused no problems with Ausgarden. The site looks lovely, and friendly and I don't have to enable my Flash Ad blocker :-) All Good LOL. If you tell me what browser you're using (and if you;re on a Mac or PC) I can help you sort this out. cheers Mabb |

| Hey Helen, All is going great with our property and life is looking good! Our fence is working wonders (much to our suprise still!), and we now have a glasshouse erected, chook-shed up, veggie patch ready for seeds/seedlings, two geese wandering around the orchard, and we are about to set-up for some ducks. We are really happy with our lifestyle at the moment and things just seem to keep getting better. Good to hear you are planning on building 'home' soon! How did your grafting day go with Bob? I'm jealous! We planted 2 lemon trees last weekend up near the house and i am sooo pleased because they look so good and fruit most of the year! Ahhh, living simple is a wonderful life... Keep smiling, it's nice to hear from you! Cheers Lyn |

Can't decide which wwould be the best place to visit as there is so much going on over the year! Yes had the same problem of a USA state to register. Will have a look at the Ausgarden site. |
