Autumn Beauty Sunflowers

I saw a picture of some that a lady had posted of her garden in the US. They have brown as well as the yellow on the flowers.

Do you find those kind of flowers in Australia?

Hi Winter Rose,
I haven't seen one like that around, but of course that doesn't mean there isn't one.
Hope you find one.

There is a sunflower, I have, called "Evening Sun" and it is multiheaded and ranges in colour from maroon to gold/brown...very pretty
You are welcome to some seeds if interested
Cheers

Oh, that's right! I grew that for a few years and it was very pretty indeed. Great colour range, and lots of small flower heads. I think I got my seeds from Eden Seeds, but may be mistaken.

Thank you both so much.

I put in a little order with Eden Seeds, the girls and even my older boys will have alot of fun seeing them grow. They had such fun with their self-sown, table scrap pumpkins last year. I also ordered some winter or acorn squash and some flanders poppies, we used to have those in our first house.

I noticed the sunflowers are good, our soil does dry out quickly so they will grow well I think.

Looking forward to getting an Eden Seeds catalogue when my order comes.

We grew sunflowers last year & the kids loved them! We went for size & ours did get huge.
The other thing they loved was the moon & stars melon, it also got really big, 14kg, & it looked so unusual. I only have 2 kids so we had a bit of trouble eating it as it doesn't keep! If you're keen to get the kids gardening I'd recommend you try it.
