Tomato Seeds Wanted

Posted by lynlyn VIC (My Page) on

I sowed my tomatoes this morning. They're sitting on top of the fridge with the capsicums sowed yesterday. Chilies are in 4" pot in front on the north facing window looking pretty :)

I'm looking for a few tomato varieties.

1- Anna Russian
2- Cuostralee
3- Prue

If anyone can help me with that send me a email and I'll give you the list of what I have available for trade.

Cheers!

I sent you an email, Lyn!

I have spare seeds of all the ones you listed.

Plus Wild Tomato! Didn't you like that one at Marysville? You know, the tiny red tomato? *grins*

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Spatz,
Got your email and replied to it before I read your post here.

I've already have a tiny red "wild" one (from Québec) we'll have to compare notes on them ;)

Thanks again

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Lyn, mine are on top of the fridge too!! (Send me your trade list too)

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

The space between the top of the fridge and the overhead cupboards is just perfect to fit my seed trays. NIce and warm up there. When the seeds show up they go under shop lights on my "seedlings table" DH built for me this winter, it's on rollers thank you very much! lol!

*lynlyn* going back to Eden's website to order more stuff

Wow! Has the tomato frenzy started?!

I've 'only' sown a few early and cold-tolerant tomatoes yet. Plus chilies, capsicums and eggplants as they usually need a lot more time than our season is long.

The big tomato list is yet to be drawn up. :)

 o
RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Uhmmm, no...

 o
RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Not a lot happening here on the fridge either. Rest are on the hotbed or still in transit!

Spatz, Looks like it's on!!

Mantis is that a chook in the background?

While I'm here does anyone knows about "Rosita" and "Turkish Orange" eggplant? Are they any good?

 o
RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

*chuckle*
Glad to see the usual 'culprits' piping up. Nice setups, you guys. :)

Lyn, Turkish Orange is a small, red, round, very pretty eggplant, but it was quite bitter when I grew it. Maybe I left it on the plant too long? Not sure I'll try it again. It was pretty, though. You can have the seeds, if you like. :)

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Lyne, Rosita is in the Tomato Growers Supply Company page. I'm growing Florentine Silk, Black Egg and Violette di Firenze (if they arrive!)

 o
RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Yes Lyn thats a chook. Their run goes around the greenhouse. They have just started to lay properly in the last couple of days.

 o
RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

I'd love to have chooks not quite suitable where I live.

Thanks for the info on eggplants. I won't bother with Turkish Orange then but they do look very cute.

These are the ones I've just ordered from TGS
-Rosa Bianca
-Fairy Tale Hybrid
(dwarf 50 days! that should be interesting)
-Listada de Gandia
Will buy a few Black Beauty from the nursery I think.

And of course I couldn't resist getting a few more chillies/pepper :)
-Ancho San Luis
-Pasilla Bajio
-Jimmy Nardello

That is it NO more seed buying LOL!!!!!! yeah right!

*lynlyn, going to check the babies on top of the fridge*

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

You'll love Jimmy Nardello. Very striking red, long, thin, sweet peppers. Very productive even in last year's terrible season up here.

Listada de Gandia looks amazing. Let us know what they taste like. :)

Mantis, our chooks have started laying a bit more, too. They kept us in eggs the whole winter, but now we are being swamped again. They don't like their nesting boxes anymore, I think. One of them keeps cleaning them out and getting rid of all the straw. So now they make little nests in the straw on the ground at the back of the chook shed. Strange things. :)

 o
RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Yeah Spatz ours have done the same. The new young ones started laying anywhere on the bedding straw. Then the made a nest under a bush where a small beetroot that I threw in there ended up. Yes, its about the shape and size of an egg LOL. Now they are all laying there, but thats ok. Funny things alrighty.

Won't be planting mine until I get back from holidays to warm place, but I have a few Anna Russian if you didn't get any. Let me know and I'll get them in the mail before I leave.

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

Cosmic, Thanks for the offer but Spatz sent what I needed. Enjoy your warm holidays I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated. I read your posts about all the work you've done for your daughter's project. Have fun!

RE: Tomato Seeds Wanted

No worries. Yes, we are both in need of a big break. We've done heaps of physical and organisational work but are worked out now. Its just the sort of thing that professionals can do that is still to be done. It's now over to her to complete and run it. We'd be poor parents who don't know when to back off besides not having much energy left! I've also closed my own business so its been hectic 6 months. Serendipity calls!
