| not sure i can help L, and this reply may be too late? these forums are so quiet for me i visit maybe once a week. anyhow not sure what sort of bin you have but if you can introduce oxygen into the middle that should help with the smell issue from rotting kitchen scraps. as i understand (and why i no longer use compost heaps/bins) compost should be turned daily. now kitchen scraps are better dealt with in a worm farm. for us we cut out the middle man all that extra work and the expense of bins etc.,. and all our composting happens in teh vege' agrdens right where the benfits are needed, and no smell. len |
