| Gill, don't do it now. When is your last frost in spring or when do you normally plant the seedlings? Calculate back 6-8 weeks. I normally start in the middle of August. Or a bit earlier if I get cabin fever. But I only plant them in the middle of October, to make sure the last frost is over. The plants are then a good size and the soil is warm enough to plant out. The plants don't appreciate being planted out when the soil is still cold. It'll set them back quite a few weeks and you don't gain anything. Good luck! |

| Hi gill Anytime in spring, when there is no chance of frosts...that is if you get any...Most seeds need a minimum of 18 - 20 degrees soil temp to germinate. Helen |
