Cucumbers

| I am currently growing vegies for the first time. Apart from tomatoes, lettuce, capsicums, snow peas, beans, and spring onions, I have Crystal Apple cucumbers. They are not the round shape I was expecting, but are about 10cm in diameter and around 40-50cms long.
While the plants are currently still flowering, the leaves are dying off. Is this normal behaviour?

Hi Kathy, I have grown cucumbers and leaf dieback and shrivelling was normal for me while the plant continued to flower. Cucumbers are prone to leave diseases, especially in humid environments. Try spraying the leaves with a milk/water solution, say, 50:50, to prevent this. -Grub. |

| Don't forget to save some milk for a cuppa to go with the cucumber sandwiches ;) |
