Peach Variety

We have a peach called Bendigo Beauty that's on its way out. So we're looking for a replacement - a white-fleshed, mid-season freestone. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where you can still buy unusual fruit varieties (we bought the BB from Brunnings but I think it has closed down now). Has anyone tried a new variety called Daisy from Flemings?

You can try Chris and Marie's website. There is also the Laverton market on a Saturday. There are lots of sellers with bare rooted trees at the moment. I went there on Saturday. The prices are better than the nurseries but shop around. There are a couple that I like to visit. If you're not familiar with the market it is near the corner of Leakes and Fitzgerald Rds. Admission is $1 before 10:30 on Saturday (free after 10:30) and $1 all Sunday. Saturday is better on the flea market side. It's open until about 3pm but it depends on how many people are there. Some stalls pack up early if it is quiet.

Here is a link that might be useful: Chris and Marie's

Hi Pepino and thanks for the ideas. I didn't realise that Chris and Marie had so many varieties, and like the sound of that 'Fragar' - I think Mr Glowinski likes it too. Only disadvantage is that it's clingstone. I had no idea about the Laverton market and will make it a priority! You have jogged my memory that I have a pink grape cutting for you. Let me know if you are still interested: it looks dead now and I've just pruned its roots as they were growing through the pot and into the soil. I actually potted three or four cuttings and they are all fighting together in the one pot.

Sugar_snap I emailed you yesterday but I'm not sure it got through. Yes I'd like one of the pink grapes. Drop me a line when you get a moment.
