what to plant now?

I've just dug 3 beds for my new veg garden. They've been well covered with old horse manure, lovely compost and pea straw. I'm keen to get planting. Any ideas on what I can plant in June in Canberra?

RE: what to plant now?

Hi, Its cold here also and Im planting rocket, kale, lettuce greens and lots of broad beans for use as a green manure (I dig it in to enrich the soil for spring planting). If you can create 'cloches'with plastic and wire you can keep winter crops growing so they dont just sit there (plastic individual tree guards work well also if you dont have a huge patch). I wonder what everyone else puts in in the cold weather? I envy you all up north at this time of year!

Now my broadband is working again, I can say thankyou via this forum. I have put down more peastraw and this time it had lots of peas so I'll have a green manure crop willynilly. And tomorrow my seeds should come!!! Quelle excitement!!
