tiny white flies on oranges and mandarin trees

| For the first time we have small white flies on the fruit on two of our citrus trees. We are having a very unseasonally dry period here and I dont know whether that has caused it. I would be grateful of any organic remedy anyone could suggest. The leaves are also looking a bit dry but that could be the very dry weather.

| Shelley, they are Ash whitefly. There is an epidemic of them in SA this year. Try a product like 'Yates Green Earth aphid-mite spray', 'Multicrop BugGuard' and 'Agrobest or Yates Naturasoap'. They are potassium insecticidal soap products and kill by contact so you have to be thorough with your spraying. cheers |
