| Grub might have grown it before. Maybe he can tell you. |

| I grew LGS last fall and am also growing it this spring, and I really like it. It's a tangy, tart tomato with enough sweetness and other flavor components to make it worthwhile. Very juicy; you wouldn't want to bite into a whole one wearing a white shirt. Fruit rarely cracks in the slightest and tends to be rather uniform. Plant height max 3 ft, should be caged or staked to support fruit. Prolific -- one plant usually produces anywhere from 30 to 50 fruits for me easily. (click to enlarge)

Thanks Suze, they look great. Got some seeds coming from TGS soon. I love the sound of how they taste, if that makes sense. Your container plants look fantastic. Do you use just bought potting soil or do you make your own mix?? |

| Mantis, I use the compressed bales of ProMix -- peat, perlite, vermiculite combo. To that (per 10 gal container), I add about a cup of slow release granulated fertilizer and about a cup of dolomitic lime. Also, I occasionally give the plants a spray w/seaweed emulsion for trace nutrients. Enjoy the Lime Green Salad. |

| Mantis - showing my ignorance now - what is TGS? I'm guessing it's got something to do with Tomato Growers eh? They do sound good - I haven't grown any greens yet - another year maybe. Cheers Cosmic |

| Cosmic - TGS are Tomato Growers Supply. An American seed company that specializes in tomatoes and peppers. The link to their site is below |

| Thanks Mantis - any problems getting them into Australia? |

| No problems as they put a green customs label on the package with the botanical name of tomato on it. Customs usually opens the package to check the contents all the same. I have dealt with them more than a dozen times and find them very reliable. |

| Thanks - I'll bookmark the site. As soon as I finish marking out carparks, digging drains, fencing, painting and assorted other builder's labouring jobs I might get back to my garden in time to sow some seeds. |
