Raspberries - where can I buy plants?

| We bought Raspberry plants from New Gippsland last year. But they don't seem to carry any at the moment. Where else could we buy Raspberry plants? We would like to extend our raspberry batch. Your suggestions are very welcome. Thank you :) |

| Spatz can't you propagate them from the canes you have? Or are you looking at a major expansion! |

| Sarah, I know, as soon as I had posted my query I thought of that, too. Maybe I'm just getting lazy? Nah, I'd like to try new varieties, that's all. :) No major expansion here, just curious as to what is out there. And I can't wait to stuff my face with something new. |

Go on Spatz, drive us all insane with envy, you can post pictures of your partner & yourself gorging yourself on Raspberries & cream.
Mind you I have no excuse, my canes all died from neglect!!!!
On a more serious note our garden centre usually has bare rooted plants & I think Diggers have some. Hit the search engine girl!!! |

| The year before last I bought 1 kg of root pieces from Berryplant suppliers (I think that's what they are called) - I just looked up the yellow pages then got onto their website. They are a wholesale supplier - and 1 kg of root pieces gave me a thickly planted trellis of 15 metres - their would have been about 200 canes. The variety is Seppelts Willamette (spelling?). No thorns and great fruit. Heavy crop from mid Nov to mid-Dec then lighter longer Autumn crop. I recommend it. Only prob - too many raspberries - we could hardly keep up at peak season. They also freeze well and I've still got about 10 kg in the freezer - homemade pav and raspberies are the favourite desert at the moment. Puck |

| Thanks, Puck! I had a look at their website. Interesting stuff they have. However, I think 1kg of root pieces may be a bit much, even for a mad person like me. :) |

| Hi Spatzbear I am pretty sure that I saw these advertised in Broensens catalogue and windyhill flowers 1800 011669 have them also

| i have some raspberries that are a month or so away from picking......suprised that they flowered so late. I guess because we had such a warm, dry spell in autumn in Melbourne the canes thought it was time to flower. These are only flowering on the tips. Can't wait to eat them :) |
