| Can anyone advise me on the best olive tree to buy ?
I live on the central coast, get good rain, northerly aspect.
I had some beautiful olives, they where green, in the hunter valley a few months back. They where the best olives I have ever tasted, mmmm, wish I had some now to eat !
Thanks people who know about, or already grow olives.

Hi popi Plant several - I have two (had three, killed one last year by mitake... long story there). But two trees give us (family of four, all olive lovers) enough olives for a year. I think the pickling process is what makes them delicious or not. Phil. |

| Hi Popi We have just moved from the UK to Fountaindale in the Cental Coast NSW and are currently planning an Orchard, that will include olives. A great variety is called Calamata.I understand that it does well on the Central Coast. In Greece they marinade the olives in olive oil, with crushed corriander seeds and lemon juice. They are one of the best meze. Stuart |
