Late tomatoes and fruit fly

| I had a dud year with the tomatoes here in Sydney, with everyone being turned into glop by fruit flies.... even the cherry tomatoes. HOWEVER! I cut all the plants back and they are fruiting again. Do I still need to worry about fruit fly now it's getting colder? Or should I be getting all protective on the fruit?
Oh, and any suggestions for tasty cherry toamtoes, the few i got to taste of the Tommy toe where dull. |

I have done the same, the plants are fruiting again & so far no sign of fruit fly so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've not grown tommy toe so not sure what they're like, Finbar gave me a Sungold last year which tastes terrific, come seed planting time there will be lots of suggestions. Have a look back through the older "baby photos" posts from last year, there are heaps of suggestions for different varieties, in fact there are so many it becomes almost impossible to choose. Good luck with the fruit fly! Sarah |

| I grew Tommy Toe a couple of years ago. Lacklustre in extremis. I've grown Camp Joys for the last two years. A really nice cherry. Email me if you'd like some seeds, jampolk. |
