Hi all,
my wife and l have just recently moved to Tassie and are in the process of adding extra fruit trees to the ones we already have at our new property. My wife mentioned, that as a child in Melbourne, her parents had a "Wiggins" peach tree that produced beautiful large fruit. We would like to plant one of these but haven't been able to locate any. Can someone please advise us where we could purchase one? Thanks.

RE: Wiggins peach

You might try Hazelbrook Farm Nursery at Penguin on the NW Coast if you are in the north, they are the best fruit tree suppliers I know ( and its a lovely drive to the farm) If you are in the south, someone else might point you in the right direction. Welcome to Tassie!

Welcome to Tassie and good luck with your new orchid but be warned that because of our cooler summers things like larger varieties of peaches, rock melons, and apricots don't always reach full size while the weather is still warm enough for them to ripen. It will depend a lot on what part of Tas you are in.
