Oh dear!! I finally got Fusilade to kill the grass and was carefully pouring it from the watering can. But I forgot to check the withholding periods and realised that as I poured near the Leeks:-((((( The rest does not really matter as it's on it's last legs anyway. But the kikuyu was just growing around and into the vege beds. By the time it clears I will well have been able to plant out new seedlings

Does it really kill the kikuyu grass? I am sick of trying to get rid of it without spraying.

How are your leeks? Can you plant them somewhere else?

RE: Oh dear!!

There are some on the rose forum which say it's the best. It's certainly listed as the herbicide for Kikuyu. Smells terrible!! It will take about 3 weeks but as it's not newly emergent may need redoing. We had some good rains so the grass had started growing well. The leeks will still be there when I need them:-))))

Annabel, where did you buy the Fusilade?

When I finally checked Landmark in the regional phone book I found a local store!! The guy on the rose forum got his in Landmark Vic. I had rung Landmark in Perth but they were waiting for more, so they must have got it. It will be available again from Syngenta in 1 lt bottles. I think I can see a touch of yellow.
