Gardening in NW Tassie

Being a very recent newcomer to the forum, I was looking for members in Tassie and there appeared not to be many on the general forum - now I have discovered they are here on Cornucopia. Like some previous posts, we are seriously considering moving to Tassie and specifically the North _west and probably Smithton in particular - we visited there in February and even found a particular property we are interested in. Rather than clog up the list with personal requirements, I was wondering whether a gardener from that region would be prepared to exchange emails with me privately for at least a short while. 13 years ago we made a bad move by not investigating the weather and don't want to do it again. I know that you usually exchange one set of problems for another

Smithton is about 30 minutes to the West from me in Wynyard and I'd be happy to have you email me. There is a big difference in weather just in such a short distance and I'd be happy to explain a bit for you. I have to go and knock down another wall tomorrow, and usually do my social emails at he weekends. So composer your questions and I'll give you some sraight answers. I like your name - reminds me of the koeksisters ( sp) we used to devour in South Africa. Tell me a bit about yourself and the social activities you like so I can check availability for you. Linda

While I'm not up on the Coast I have a fair bit of gardening experience which may (or then may not) be of use to you. I am at Mole Creek. While it is certainly a lot colder here than at Smithton there might be some useful parallels. More than happy to exchange off list emails. Ron...
