I presume that this is a typical Brandywine? Have had only two fruit so far! (Bit out of focus)

RE: Brandywine?

There are many Brandywines, for example, red, pink, yellow, and numerous strains and many misnomers given the name Brandywine. I have only grown Brandywine Sudduth, which is pink with potato-shaped leaves, whereas yours look red on my monitor. However, no matter what colour it is or isn't, it is impossible to say if yours is a real Brandywine. Low production can be a factor with some Brandywines but by no means all of them. Red Brandywine is said to be bountiful. So it's hard to say if you have a Brandywine. Where did you get your seeds? If they are from Eden Seeds then no-one really knows if their Brandywine (listed as pink) is the real deal or not. I will say this: it looks like a wonderfully ripe tomato. Enjoy, :grub.

Nice tommy! Looks about right for a Brandywine. Is it pink or red? Always hard to tell from photos. Which of the Brandywines is it? Most importantly, how have they tasted?

Here are some of my Brandywine Sudduths from last season sitting with some Anna Russians. The B'wines are back left, back centre, with a smaller one back right:

And here's a Brandywine Sudduth with a Cherokee Purple and Heatherington Pink from this season pictured on a bed of oregano. BS is the pink one at the back.

Here is a link that might be useful: Triple Treat

RE: Brandywine?

This year I grew Red Brandywine.

I rate it a 7.5/10 for taste and an 11/10 for production.

So it rates about 8.5/10 on my scale.

It's been endless and my mainstay and just a red tomato that's always there. :)
