hi cosmic, our day (month)in the sun has arrived.my tommies are coming thick and fast, i am picking a 10 litre bucket of tommies a day.my wife is complaing that there are tomatoes everywhere, my neighbours hide when they see me coming. everybody has made heaps of relish and don't want anymore.every time i walk past a bush i eat at least two and sometimes three, cherry toms i eat by the hand full.we are catching heaps of cocky salmon over the kilo mark, and when we barby them on go at least 6 tomatoes as well.
we are picking EARLY GIRL, CELEBRITY, LARGE HUSKY RED CHERRY TOMS, THE OLD FAVOURITE GROSSE LISSE. I STILL HAVE SIX DIFFERENT VARITIES FULL OF LARGE GREEN TOMS NOT YET RIPE.
WHEN GOD CREATED AUSSIE HE GAVE US BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMATOES AND SUNSHINE. COSMIC IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU CAN GET THOSE CANES. ROUGHIE |

| WE have had a good crop - I am sick of tomatoes though with my arthritis! How did Early Girl do - was it early? I'm still on the lookout for some canes for you. I have also to go and get some blueberry plants soon for Adamus and Spatz. Thought I'd show my efforts for the Cosmic Summer - so there are some pictures on my website. I though it best not to clutter this forum with too many pics since I've got a site. I am pleased with the summer and pleased with our 3 year effort. When we started the garden I was two weeks out from bi lateral surgery and having radiation for BC but something said - plant something and you'll survive; consequently this garden is the best thing I every did to heal myself. That first year had a couple of cabbages - this year has been a bit more substantial even fighting bloody lymphodema. |

| Great to hear that you folks in Tassie have a bumper harvest now! We are quite tired of tomatoes now, too. There is plenty of ketchup, salsa, preserves, paste, etc. in the pantry now. Great pictures, cosmic! Roughie, got any pictures, too? :) |

It is a great tomatoe nice and firm and pink to red. taste is v/ good for a early tomatoe.(76 days) Celebrity is a later tomatoe, eating early March.Medium to large and ripens dark red and taste is very good.Sectional winner in America a few years ago.(76 days) Spats i wish i had a digital camera so i could show you my working enviroment. Great to hear from you guys in double Mexico. Our weather I think is the same os ours. We are having a late spirt on our tommies, and I think it's too late for thhe fruit fly and the red spider mite seems to have died off. I hope we get some late ones. Can't wait for the Blueberries Cosmi van tutti, Just let us know the weight roughly, and I;l send ya some stamps. It's a pity youze all couldn't be at Marysville, we had a lovely time. I'm pushing for white coats and clipboards for next year, should be another hoot. Like everyone else, we're a bit over tommies at the moment, but I could do with a few in a cuppla weeks. I've made relish, sauce, ketchup, chili sauce, passata, dried, bottled and green pickle; not to menton the cowering neighbours. I instill a false sense of security by brandishing a few manky snow peas, and when the ooohs and aaaahs start, I go for the jugular with the tommies and the butter beans. Visible blanching all 'round, but it beats trying to eat 'em yourself. |

| I'll get onto Patricia this week. Had to pull down a ceiling while you guys were cruising and feasting - pulled down walls yesterday, tomorrow knocking out interior walls. Not sure when I'll get things finished in my own house. So much for retirement! One good thing is we are getting lots of seasoned timber that we are laminating to use for raised beds, benches in the hothouse and probably enough left over to build a new shed, if we survive the pain.. Just had a bottle of champagne whiteboards and clipcoats sound cool. Got a great pressie - a massage chair and bejaizus I needs it.....recipe for sweet chillie sauce wanted, hows yours? |
