| hello Hank I thoroughly agree with you. I have known about this problem for many years. The rootstock of the Nelly Kelly is a menace. In fact passionfruit is a weed that moves into bushland, I believe spread by birds. I have found many passionfruit vines growing in the bush near me. I would never buy this plant again, and I think it should be removed from the nurseries. To eradicate your recalcitrant rootstock, perhaps you could try the "scrape and paint" method of killing plants. You could try just neat glyphosate, but I believe that does not work.
