Not much of a pumkin expert here. I have two butternuts in and they were looking decidedly weak. Went away for a week and got the neighbour to water the garden. When we got back the pumkins had taken off. Conclusion, as the neighbour is a watering nut, more water needed. I have given them heaps of water since and they are taking over the back yard. Dont know if this will help but, I would leave the hose at the base of the plants dribbling, for an hour or so and see if they pick up.

Both water and sun in abundance are what pumpkins like. If the struggling plants aren't in a good position, you could try moving them. They won't like the move though. Trim them back as much as you can before doing it and give them plenty of water before and after.

Both pumpkins and watermelon love growing in compost heaps. Our pumpkins are still setting fruit but I don't expect to see anything from these. The nights are already cooling down.
