| Been working on my list for next year (yes, i know). I had such a disaster season, dreaming of next year is all is left so I'm having lots of fun.
I would like some suggestions to complete this selection coz I'm stuck. I'm not after a world records size wise.
Blondkopfchen
Jaune Flammé
Dagma's Perfection
Earl of Edgecombe
Green Zebra
Black Cherry
Black Prince (Keep changing that one)
Aunt Ruby's German Green
Zogola
Cuostralee
+ 1 pink and 2 reds from Québec
(Dufresne, Frontenac, Quebec 13)
I'm in SE Melbourne suburbs so if you see anything that might cause me problems on the list let me know, I would like to eat a couple of heirloom tomatoes next year! 4 Black Cherries this year that's it :(

| Hi LynLyn. You'll get a thousand suggestions. I could suggest at least a dozen, starting with Brandywine OTV, Kellogg's Breakfast, Soldacki, Golden Queen, Cherokee Purple or Brown ... and so on ... |

Are you after 2 more? At least 3 on the list are pretty big (Aunt Ruby's German Green, Zogola and Cuostralee). I tried all three last year but that was a disaster year so I can't comment. You already have 2 blacks so I won't suggest Cherokee Purple. How about a lovely pink from the US called Fritsche? It was one of the few I grew last year that I got to taste. I have plenty of seeds. It's a decent size too. You don't have any bi-colours (interior flesh two distinct colours). You need a bi-colour. I have plenty of seeds for Regina's Yellow which is lovely. That'll do from me. |

I would substitute Cherokee Green for Aunt Ruby, as CG produced for me this year and ARGG did not, at all. And echoing Finbar, Kellogs Breakfast and Soldacki, both great croppers and yummy to boot. I have seeds for all 3 if you would like some, drop me an email with your address and it will be done. Mantis |

You're right Finbar, Ray you are reading my mind. So a bit more info on my thinking. Being new to growing tomatoes I am trying to get a bit of everything as far as size, color. I chose Zogola & Cuostralee for sauce. Aunt Ruby's German Green because I saw beautiful pics of slice of green tomato and it looks amazingly delicious. The others were mixture of colors more on the smaller size being what I prefer to eat fresh. Ray your idea of bi-colours flesh is great I like that. I'll go read up Regina's Yellow. So I need another bi-colour. Is there such thing as a pink with bi-color flesh? LOL |
