| Hi Mee2u..Sorry I don't know a lot about tomatoes but I do know that flower drop is caused by either a pollination problem or to do with the temperature. Now being in Queensland it cannot be that, so maybe its a pollination problem. That also seems a lot of sulphate of potash to give one plant handfulls are all different sizes better to go and buy a set of measuring spoons for $2 than make a mistake as you may have given it too much of the good stuff..? Hope this helps.....Cheers..MM. |

Hi MM, I have found a few bits of info surfing the web and it is as you suggest probably one or more of the following.Temperature or over fertilizing effects blooms setting fruit, too cold <50deg f or too hot>75deg f I reckon the cold one is out so maybe the over >75 deg f (21 deg c)plus my potash feed might have been the reason for my problem I will just have to wait it out to see if they start to develop the nights are feeling a bit cooler now so that may help I have some Grosse Lisse and some San mazano comming along at various stages bit early to see if they will go the same way I also have Soldacki in pots waiting for further development before I put them in the garden probably next week.I also have a termite invasion in my no dig garden timber I found a recipe on the web for treating them, 4 parts Blood & Bone to 1 part Boron (Borox Powdered form) The termites are supposed to be attracted to it and they take it back to their nest and it kills the Queen also apply again in 1 month intervals here's hoping anyway. Cheers :-) |
