The time is fast approaching. My mobile number is 0410 541 952. Please don't hesitate to call when you arrive in Marysville.
Tentative arrangements are:
Saturday from 12.30 (or thereabouts) at the rotunda in the park. This has yet to be confirmed. I'll post firm details when known.

Thanks, Ray, for organising it all and keeping up the reminders. I'm really looking forward to catching up with you all in person. :)

I hope to have a selection of tomatoes to bring along.

Thinking of going for the saturday afternoon to meet you in person. I feel a little embarassed to show up empty handed, no toms no seeds. Nothing to offer to xchange....but then again did I mention I'm a massage therapist *wink*

LynLyn *who just came back from beeeeeeeeeeautiful Tasmania and who's got a fridge loaded with somptuous sheep milk cheeses!*

Lyn, just come along and join the crowd. There's really no need to bring anything. Or if you must, you can always bring something nice to nibble on. :)

Or if you have leftovers of that sheep milk cheese.....

Glad you liked Tasmania. It's great, isn't it? :)

Nous serons tous déçus si tu n'est pas à Marysville, mains vides ou pas!

RE: Marysville arrangements

Oh boy. I had to rip out a few plants today due to disease. It's the first time I had these problems and it's very depressing. Let's hope I'll still have tomatoes for Marysville.

But one thing I know for sure - tomatoes or no tomatoes - I'm gonna have a mighty fine time in Marysville!

RE: Marysville arrangements

Welcome to the club spatz. Two years in a row I've had problems, and in entirely different gardens!

 o
RE: Marysville arrangements

Funnily enough, I've had a relatively disease-free season. I decided not to spray anything at all this year, and just see how they survive. Some plants are now starting to look a bit sad.

As it stands, the meeting place is still the rotunda in the park but kick off will be 2pm. This seems to be a better start time for those coming on Saturday.

 o
RE: Marysville arrangements

Okay, definite arrangements:
Venue - Rotunda in the park
Time - 2pm onwards
The later start is because two of our group, probably the only two who will have any tomatoes, don't arrive until about then. In fact, they were the principal tomato suppliers last year too. Wonder what this says about the rest of us!

RE: Marysville arrangements

just curious - what's all this about Marysville, raymondo?

sounds as though you'll be having fun

RE: Marysville arrangements

G'day paradisi, it's just a get together for those who want to taste a few different tomatoes. Last year, we went to Rutherglen. It's really more of a weekend away with other gardening nuts. We generally have a good time and tasting tomatoes is just a bonus.

RE: Marysville arrangements

Eeeek, I just checked my itinerary and see that my flight is early on Saturday and not late morning like I thought I remembered?! Soooo sorry guys!!! :(

PP, desperately hoping that she will have some tomatoes left by then... *sigh*

Paint an orange red, zia P.

RE: Marysville arrangements

Does this mean we can move the kick off time forward from 2pm to say 12.30 or 1.00pm?

 o
RE: Marysville arrangements

Is it possible to have show of hands on who will be there? I lost track and I'm curious :)

Showing two hands here... for me and Lips (George) my partner

And we have JF (who doesn't!) principe Borghese (will probably dry some) cherokee purple (fingers crossed they'll be ripe at the right time) brandywine suddeth and BR yellow currant

Another two hands - for me and Julie.

No idea whether I'll be able to bring any tomatoes. The whole patch is a terrible mess. Yesterday's rain was great for the rest of the garden but a disaster for the tomatoes. Most of them split and are now under attack from millipedes and other nuisance critters.

RE: Marysville arrangements

I'm there for Saturday and half of Sunday. Ray, I think it would be great if we could catch up from lunchtime, and onwards into the afternoon, like we did in Rutherglen. Are we doing some ratings as we taste?

It would be really nice to meet any other forum folks if they'd like to join us, not just the tomato junkies, hahaha. Nicefrog, you could bring us a sample of some of those Sapotes - is this their ripe season? We'd be delighted if you joined in the tomato tasting of course ;-)

Yippeeee, not long to go folks!

Patrina

I will also be there with Hubby and my little boy. Tomatoes? What are they? Most of mine finished a couple of weeks back and have started sprouting again so hopefully I'll get a late crop, but can't bring much to Marysville (Maybe some Principe Borghese and Yellow currants which is all I have at the moment). I may have a Earls Faux Brandywine - if the last lone fruit survives.

Oh well - thems a breaks! Anyone want Strawberry plants???? I've got thousands coming on!
