passionfruit dropping off

My passionfriut vine was slow to fruit but once it did it took off. The vine is (or was) covered with them and is still fruiting. However the fruit drop off before they ripen. They are otherwise perfect, though some do have the spots I have read about, and I can't find anything wrong with the vine or any pests. What could be wrong?
We have had regular rain and high humidity. Could this be the cause?
Donna.

RE: passionfruit dropping off

I am a complete nuf nuf with passionfruit. If I plant one it dies, so my wife plants them and they grow. Must be some kind of spooky karma thing. She planted one last year after the old one died, as they do, after 7 years or so, and it took off. I suggested a spot beside a garden fence thinking that it could climb the fence. It has climbed the fence, and the tree behind the fence, and is now to the top of the tree which is about 25 foot tall. But, not a single flower. Methinks that even suggesting a spot to plant it did the karma thingy and it is saying "good try sucker, I will grow but produce not, he he he".
Go figure

Mantis *knowing that this post is of no use to Donna, but just had to get it off my chest*
