Question re Eva Purple Ball ripening

Finbar, or anyone that has grown EPB. How do they colour up as my first looks to be turning red? Do they turn red then purple, or do they go darker for a start?

Thanks

I think EPB is a pink Richard, maybe a dark pink, but definitely a pink.

They're a dark pink, Richard. Do yours have scalloping around the shoulders? Mine do. I'm not sure that they're supposed to have.

There is no scalloping, they are near perfect balls. It is possible that it is a cross of EPB and Grosse Lisse as they were growing side be side last year. It is still on the plant and is now red but still firm. I will leave it another couple of days to see if it changes.
