The other night I bought a Black Sapote seedling when I went to the Rare Fruit Society's January meeting. Now I need to know how to look after it! And does anyone know if you can grow these in a large container?

PP, If by large container you mean tub or half wine barrel then yes you could grow it in that. It would grow best in the ground in a raised bed with rich well draining soil and lots of moisture. Keep it warm when it is young by leaving it in the pot and moving it around or planting it in a protected spot by the side of a house or rainwater tank etc.
As well as protecting it from the cold when it is young it is better off only receiving filtered sunlight until it is established. Even if this means a simple shadecloth and wooden stake barrier for it's first couple of years. Good luck:)
