I know this is an odd subject for Cornucopia but, when I first subscribed to this site, I was asked for a $15 donation, which I did not make as I was reluctant to give my credit card details on the web. I would now love to make a contribution as I've derived so much help from Gardenweb but don't know how to go about it. Does anyone know where I could send the money? Thanks,
Halina |

| You do not have to make Contributions now .When I joined up I didn't but I felt the same way as you and paid after my first month in 2004, also I did not get those annoying advertisements. Its all for free now and they have taken the Contributor sign from "My Page " and any others that used to pay every year I dont know why but I am sure someone will let us know ....Cheers..MM. |

| The site changed hands a while ago. Presumably the new owners scrapped the contributions idea. |

The site was originally set up by an enthusiast. He/she ran it for years on a shoestring budget and welcomed membership as a way of offsetting costs. Like Finbar, I signed up to help out because I thought it was worthwhile. Alas, it was sold to a commercial concern, iVillage, who now bombard us with ads for coca-cola! Among other sites, they own this one - Woman's Issues! My recommendation is give them nothing! |

Gardenweb is such a great site. I hope the new owners are as enthusiastic as the old. Thanks for letting me know. Halina |

| Any forum is only as good as its members and iVillage has no way of controlling that. This one has some beaut people who are generous with their time, advice, seeds and everything we associate with sharing. I would not be supporting iVillage but I do support the ethics and principles of members. Linda |

Thanks for letting me look at your site, Len. I found your comments about permaculture very interesting. I'm ashamed to say I've been a bit wasteful with water in the garden ie the neighbours nicknamed me "Madame Flood", when I forgot about the sprinkler system and I flooded the inside of their car (they left the door open unbeknown to me!) However, I am now chastised and will make every effort to look after our beautiful planet. Your site is very rich with info and I will revisit it again to read some more. We need good earth guardians like you to remind us that we do have responsibilities towards others. Thanks again, Halina |
