sick agaves

Hi. Everywhere in my area the agaves (all varieties)are being attacked by something and I don't know whether its a disease or a mite of some sort. They look variaget with yellow/white patches and green spots. I have taken photos of ours to see if anyone recognises the problem. We have had very hot days lately and spring was a good one with a lot of overnight rain followed by warm days. Could this be the cause? I noticed browning of the leaves on Friday before Christmas and took the photos on boxing day. I have added photos to the gallery as I don't know how to add them to this post. Donna.
