Conditions around Perth?

Posted by organic_norm (My Page) on

I am about to choose an area in Australia to work. I am interested in cacti & succulents. I come from Canada, and wonder if the Perth area is too lush for a cacti and succulent garden. I know that most of Au is dry, and we welcome something different from Canada. But from what we can see on-line, Perth seems to be very green, perhaps too green.
Is that so?
Thanks,
Norm

RE: Conditions around Perth?

Your pretty safe with anything under the Tropical of Capricorn, Above that is just too humid for c&s. Perth is known as the Windy City here in Oz so they won't mind the breeze flowing past them...I'm not sure about the soil though, but there's always a way around that! Welcome to the Land of Oz Norm.
