Succulent/cacti borders

HI,
I have reached far down into my barrell of ideas for a succulent border. I recently landscaped my frontyard and on 2 sides, I planted a beautifull kalenchoe (which has red flowers in spring). The succulent on its own looks very beautiful with its burgundy serrated leaves. I am at a loss for what to plant on the third side of the new area. My criteria for a good border succulent/cacti are :
(1) It should not grow more than a foot in height.
(2) Does not have a spreading habit - as this would ruin the look of the border
(3) Flowers are not a must, though I would consider it a bonus !
(4) The leaves by themselves should create a statement. Before I forget, cacti could alsa be used for this border.
(5)They should be able to take full sun during summer, and winter rain.
There ! I said it all. I do hope you can help me out by suggesting some good plants. |
