| Another one I bought recently, possibly Mamm haageana ssp elegans, the little flowers never fail to impress.
Enjoy...

| The spines resemble those of M. polyedra but those hot pink flowers suggest... I don't know a M. haniana hybrid? I'll keep looking. |

| I have not come across any dead ringers for this Mammy. You might want to look at miles2go.com and try to eye something that looks close enough. The only red spined mamm's I see that could have created the red tips (some might say brown tips) is M. deherdtiana and M. mystax and maybe a couple others. The variations in species can be subtle and or down right drastic. You may have a haniana/nejapensis hybrid or mystax/deherdtiana hybrid or an M. cactuspolecat. |

| Hey Joe, I reckon you're probably right about it's likely hybrid status. Thanks CP |
