potting mix 4 cuttimgs

Hi, Mr Lainey talking.
Want some advice on soil 4 cuttings. I buy BiLow potting mix then mix with equal parts course sand. Is this O.K. and if it is, is there a fertaliser that can be used to suppliment the growth. Thank you. Ivan |

Hi Mr Lainey.
Although I have never used the BiLow potting mix, I should think that it should be safe, providing you add the extra course sand. Normally, bagged soils contain no food at all. Nevertheless, there should be enough nourishment in the seed leaves and body of the seedling cacti to keep it healthy for the first month at least. Nevertheless, I usually spray mine with half strength Hydroponic mixture, this provides the trace elements as well as the major fertiliser elements.
