Hello,

Julie, deejayus, jancol, hablu, ladyecheveria,deejayus,

I dont know julie what you should do in re your pachypodium .. i have mine in a shed by a window. I wish some one would give you and I a link that gives cultivation notes for Pachy podiums as i know that some should be watered in winter as that is when they grow eg aP. namaquanensis cf lamerii.

What do you think of my frost tolerance

Hello David,

that would not be enough overhere. we get lots of rain during wintertime and than suddenly some days (sometime weeks) of frost. (on the ground sometimes minus 10 or more celcius) You must live in a dry area to try it like this.
In the front at the right side just after the green plastic is that an reddisch Fero? If so, it really should be protected against frost. greets Harry

Brilliant Baldric, it looks just like my garden but I would shift away some of the autumn leaves incase they went mushy around the base of the cacti. I think I have found the happy medium with my pachy, I put it in the northern sheltered sun in the day and bring it in covered with plastic to keep in the warmth at night, it has new leaves and has grown taller even with the cold. Hablu, it must be a REAL challenge to grow these in the Netherlands, what keeps you motivated? B. have you tried this site for pachies?
