 o
are blue agaves the worst pest?

We have many agaves planted. The blue agave (aka tequila
agave) with serrated edges is nasty. The rhizomes spread
out a long away and push up the paving bricks. We have
variegated agaves (also with thorny edges) and another
type with smooth edges, but they do not seem to cause
any damage, despite being the same proximity to th bricks.
Anybody else got bad experience with these monsters?
[I say don't plant them unless in a big pot]
