L - plater Cacti/Succulent gardener here...

Ok, I have some land and want to do a succulent garden, the area I have flagged may or may not be suitable ~ what do you think? It's a west facing slope area, very dry clay soil...barking up the wrong tree here yes? no?

What would be the most preferred condition for this type of garden, I mostly have Agave, Aloe and Yuccas, plus a few other smaller varieties... what to do what to do? ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas, I have none!

Clay tends to hold the water so it might not be a good idea, succulent's and cacti like open draining stoney type of soil, can you build a raised garden on the top of the clay.
