Agave Attenuata problem
| | |
Posted by oatis New Zealand (My Page) on Wed, May 5, 04 at 17:18
Hi, I have about 15 large Agave Attenuata in my garden.
I live in New Zealand (North) and after some heavy rain and strong winds the ends of the leaves have become yellow with spots. They look rather ill.
Anyone have any ideas? |

| Hi Oatis, dont panic these marks can appear when the humidity is too high or when too much moisture is about. The cells in the leaves actually burst and cause the yellow marks. Although it looks unsightly they will eventually grow out and new leaves will form. Good drainage is important for these plants and good airflow. Good luck with them. |

That was a major problem in Auck around that time, you were not on your own. The humidity was high too. Hope they didn't suffer from the hailstorm the other week either. Heather |
