what is the orange stuff on many bought cactuses?

| Can anyone tell me when buying the small cactus, what the orange stuff is that they have as a mulch?. It is a terracotta colour and many of the little square pots have this sitting on the top. Can anyone tell me where to get it and also the little square pots. I have a lot of little babies on my cactus and want to pot them up. Thanks Jan |

| The pots I have seen at my local nursery have Scoria as a decorative mulch I use small pebbles I bought at bunnings they have a great color range |
