a whole lot of yucca : a moving story

| HELLO ,
I have a largish Yucca .
It has been growing in semi shade and I want to move in to the open.
It is bent at right angles as it has searched for the light .
It is about 20 yrs old.
I dont want to kill it , rather. I want make it a feature over my pond.
Can any one advise me as to the correct time to make such a move and any other relevant suggestions in re replant.
it is autumn.
Waiting in anticipation as I thought I might do it very soon . |

| Replant in hot weather only, water in once, and then wait until you see new growth before watering again. Make sure to pot the head facing the sun, and at first shade it with a cloth baby diaper to protect it or you will burn the leaves. It must gradually get used to the sun. Norma |

We have a Yucca grove on fire in my near high desert at this time. They grow at 3,500 feet. Do you know it's natural growing time, I forget that you or we live upside down. Here we transplant just before their natural spring to life. ?
Here it gets a lot of rain and sometimes snow in January, that will be the only water they will get all year most of the time. They don't do well when transplanted, so be very careful of watering. |
